Those separate things generate different delivery reports so its easy 
to do on the end user side.
However depending on the SMSC type, the text might look different for 
this.

Be aware that if you get "message expired" this usuall ymeans that you 
couldn't reach the destination phone for 7 days so I'm not that 
convinced you really want to resend in such a case.
