SMSC connection limit?

Hi all,

Is there a limit to the number of smpp connections one can have per
bearer and sms box instance?

I currently have 35 and everything works but when I add another one
kannel appears to stop functioning. No output to screen or logs. I'm
using version cvs-20030310 on CYGWIN v1.3.22
