Hi James,

first of all: please cc devel ML too, IMO it's interesting for all 
developers...

second: you have not answered my question! which version are you using? sorry 
but I can't guess...

third: emi2 smsc will retransmit all queued messages and does automaticaly 
reconnect w/o waiting of outgoing traffic.

Please answer these questions:
1) which version of kannel?
2) is kannel patched by you or is it a clean kannel.org version?
3) if kannel patched by you then try clean CVS kannel.org version.
3) if this is not a CVS version try it first and see if a ?bug? still here.
4) if nothing of above descr. help, provide us with a more debug bearerbox 
output, because we can't guess what's going wrong having only 2 lines from 
the debug log...
