yep, we'd need some kind of visual/graphical abstraction layer
displaying. Like a graph that shows dependecies of the layers and how
they grap into each other. 

@Alex: David did some of that stuff. See the wallpaper in my office ;)
was that usefull in any sense? Did you review?
