well, first of all, AFAIK english, "sir" is about to address a single
person, but not a mailing list, where there are a lot of people.

Secondly, I can't remember anybody (at least in the list) promising to
send you a developer's guide.

Lastly, you could try to read a bit outdated but interesting document
(a master thesis actually) about Kannel Architecture and Design by
Lars Wirzenius:
