Thanks for your reply.  I will post a bug regarding the postgresql LIMIT 
problem and in the mean time edit the c files as per your suggestion..

Regarding the aliases, I am not sure the problem is with the encoding.   If 
I SMS the word "Play" (which is an alias for "slots) I can see the following 
in the smsbox log file:

2005-02-03 12:31:37 [7737] [4] INFO: Starting to service <Play> from 
<+27828553923> to <+27820000121>

It looks like it received "Play" correctly.

However, I will test the mo-recode = true as you suggested.
