Keeping gwlib for gwlib's sake seems pointless. The APR is a stable,
portable and well
maintained framework for applications like Kannel (or Apache, Subversion,
you name it).

I really think that maintaining yet another system abstraction layer just
for
Kannel (and not a good one: gwlib is not really portable. The windows port
relies on
Cygwin for portability) is somewhat pointless and smells like the "not
invented here"
syndrome.

hmmm, it's like a sexy thing to think about it. But a) would be a horror job
in
