ah ups ;) i was looking through the ml, as alex told me, and the patch didn't 
exist on your page anymore, but a complete kannel.tgz, which i took.

would it be an option to make unneded parts optional? or give them their 
own configure etc? I've seen stuff like that on more complex projects...

i'm working on a newer version of the at-driver. i had turnaround times of
more than 5 minutes before aplying the automake patch. with the way it is now, 
i can directly compile in emacs to spellcheck the code, and have the linemarks 
which point the textcurser directly to the right direction.
