sorry for delay...

I don't really know very well that peace of code but your patch looked 
more like a hack and not a properly solution to the problem.

Please try to get in touch with Paul he wants it fixed too and seems to 
have clue how to do it right. If then all agree that's the right fix, I 
will commit it to cvs...
