can't get motorola v120e phone to talk to my kannel wap server (1.4.0)

I must first preface this with an apology - not exactly a devel question I'm asking, but I didn't hear anything back from the users list so far......

Having problems connecting to kannel wap server from my phone.....getting connection refused from server.

I am using Kannel WAP server version 1.4.0. My wapkannel.conf is as follows:

I programmed my v120e moto phone, giving it the wap ip of the machine I'm running kannel on and using port 9201. I tried in the phone, to launch an ip that is working thru mozilla; no luck. Also tried to launch www.google.com/wml but wap server is refusing connection.

When I start up wapbox and bearerbox, it says connection from 127.0.0.1 successful (in the kannel logs) upon the startup of wapbox and bearerbox -- seems I should see my machine IP here??
 
Is there a way to test kannel's "readiness" before I try to connect via my cell phone?  The user's guide starts to talk about "using the fake WAP sender" in Appendix B. but it isn't fleshed out...........

Any ideas?
