WAP 2.0 doesn't necessarily mean native HTTP/TCP communications.
In the spec itself it says that a WAP 2.0 phone can use either the older
UDP communications or the newer TCP communications -- or optionally
both. So what you have there is what I would consider a WAP 1.x handset
under a WAP 2.0 label (albeit with XHTML support and so on -- also from
the WAP 2.0 specs), but realistically it is in a legal sense a WAP 2.0
phone.
