Kannel discarding SMSs if bind is down

Dear Kannel Devel,

This morning, our connection to the SMSC dropped and we saw this as the
store status was not going down.

We are running: cvs-20060113

From:

We restarted the bind for smsc1 and the SMS/s were still not sent.

We have in the main kannel.conf the default for the smsbox for all our SMSC
links:

Any idea why Kannel discards SMSs and does not send them when the bind came
up?  This is a crucial issue as it means you can't restart a bind without
losing SMSs.

Any help appreciated.
