about SMSC protocols

Hello everybody:

 

         My name is Darien Jesus Alvarez de la Cruz. I am from Cuba and
I am studying Informatics Sciences at my last year, so I have to make my
thesis.

 

          I would like to make my investigation about: A Multi-Protocol
schema to communicate with SMSC. I am a member of a small entity in my
University that develops software for mobile devices. I have worked on
different projects, like MMS, WAP portals, WURFL and WALL applications.
But I never work with communication protocols, etc, because I always
used NowSMS Gateway to send and receive my messages. 

 

          I have experience programming in C++, C#, and Java. I know
that you made Kannel in "C", but I have 10 months to learn C, and make
my own version, but I prefer contribute in the development of Kannel at
the same time. I want to develop a Java API that can be use to
communicate with several SMSC by through different protocols. Can any
help me to begin?? Thanks in advance,
