Then this means a windowing of 128 would be possible without protocol  
violation..

the EMI and SMPP code is pretty stable in this respect. I have  
implemented my own SMPP and EMI Server part  based on that style and  
they perform very well. One sender thread,  one receiver thread per  
connection.
