Reassembly of concatenated MOs in Kannel 1.4.1

Now that I'm using a much more recent version of Kannel, I've just encountered the reassembly of concatenated MOs in the bearerbox feature - unfortunately, it seems this feature isn't configurable, which is a problem since this breaks our http application. We've made a decision to do MO reassembly at the http application, since we can then apply the same general rules to MOs from another non- SMPP carrier connection, place a upper bound on our application's column sizes, and capture message parts which otherwise would not be able to be reassembled. Can this feature be made configurable?
