Hi all

Can any1 explain how to use 'alt-charset' or any similar parameter. Can it be used when v use a cell as a virtual SMSC.

    I am using LG M4410 as a virtual SMSC. When i send a SMS (text: nop) from any other cell to this LG cell i am supposed to get a reply SMS back to the same cell with the text "You asked nothing and I did it!". But i get a reply SMS that has strange charcter. I think this has something to do with the charcter set of my cell. I dont kno which char encodin my cell uses is there any way to kno.

I'm using the following MODEM conf -

    group = modems
    id = lg
    name = lg
    detect-string = "LG electronics"
    detect-string2 = "GSM Mobile Station"

    group = modems
    id = generic
    name = "Generic Modem"

The SMSC conf is -

    group = smsc
    smsc = at
    modemtype  = auto
    device = /dev/ttyACM0
    my-number = 91**********
    connect-allow-ip = 127.0.0.1
    log-level = 0

The SERVICES are -

    group = sms-service
    keyword = nop
    text = "You asked nothing and I did it!"

    group = sms-service
    keyword = default
    text = "No service specified"
