steps of kannel configuration

i am new to the kannel server such that i would great help in trying 2 
configure the kannel on my fedora core.according 2 kannel user guide am 
supposed 2 have the core group defined if my kannel is 2 run.having 
said that my worry is how do i start the three boxes of bearer,sms and 
wap?and the other question is how do i check that the files that i have 
edited within the kannel have taken place from the command line 
interface.
