Kannel Slows Down In Performance After 8000 sms have been sent.

i am not good in c but i develop in java. i have currently setup kannel and
its working fine but when i use it to send sms about 2 Million Max, it
begins to deteriorate and start to queue after about 8 thousand sms have
been sent.
i observe that it performs better when it sends instantly than when it
queues and later tries to send - a lot of requeing and obvious pausing.
how can i improve this performance issue?
