kannel installation problem(running configure file)

Hello all,
As I run configure file during Kannel installation process, I receive
following error message:

configure: creating ./config.status
./config.status: line 393: syntax error near unexpected token `)'
./config.status: line 393: `    *\'*) ac_optarg=`$as_echo "$ac_optarg"
| sed "s/'/'\\\\\\\\''/g"` ;;'

Would you guide me how to solve this problem?
