I believe your sms service provider (the one you dial to send the sms
messages) would have to support an ISDN connection, and I am pretty sure
that the service providers in Australia do not support this, however I
have heard other countries do.
I have noticed a few questions since I joined the list (2 months) about
using a mobile phone with sms_client, and I believe that people are
trying to send the sms directly from the phone, not using a service.
It has been mentioned that this would probably be possible if you wrote
your own modem driver and service instruction set, however I believe you
would be better off using command line Gnokii with some custom scripts,
if you want to use the sms function of your mobile phone. Otherwise
sms_client would be best off using your mobile phone's modem function.
This area is what my original statement was in relation to.
