Hi Rob ! Multiple messages per connection is, at least here in Switzerland, on option that is only available to so-called "Large Account" customers. The code to do multiple transmissions is there in SMSClient, but Swisscom's SMSC won't accept multiple messages from a single connection at the dial-in port. So, check with your SMSC provider if the option is supported. Batch SMS (Rob van Oostveen) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 1 Date: Thu, 26 Aug 2004 15:55:34 +0200 From: "Rob van Oostveen" <[email protected]> Subject: [sms_client] Batch SMS To: [email protected] Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=3D"us-ascii" Hi, I downloaded the latest version of smsclient (2.0.9a) which supports KPN UCP as well. All works fine.. it's a great tool! But... what I need is a way to send the same messages to multiple numbers (approx. 20 - 30) in one batch. If I specify multiple numbers now, the client will dial in for every number. The problem is not the costs (although I'm not feeling too comfortable about it), but the time it needs to reach all recipients. One dial action takes about 40 seconds to complete. So, in the best case for 20 recipients it takes 10 x 40 seconds =3D 400 seconds to reach them all. The standard KPN SMSC supports 2 SMS messages to be sent in one session max. Now, I read that is is possible for KPN to handle batch messages. But how can I accomplish that with smsclient? Does anyone know how? And which SMSC number to use? Thanks in advance.
