the M/Monit GUI uses a FORM authentication, the BASIC-auth is used only for the status/events collector.

The FORM authentication example is described in the M/Monit HTTP-API documentation (you can use it with script or to create a custom dashboard): https://mmonit.com/documentation/http-api/Examples/cURL
