Hi
I have monit setup to start services when they stop running e.g. if a PID
file is no longer present. I have so far not had any issues with this setup
but one thing troubles me. During automatic package updates the processes I
monitor stop while they update. I will rarely, occasionally get a
notification from Monit that said service wasn=E2=80=99t running and so has=
been
started. Is there a potential timing issue here if the package is not yet
ready, or is system (how I start and stop services) clever enough to handle
it?
If it is a problem the follow up question is what could I do about it?
Thanks in advance.
Jamie
