monit does not use the mailserver

Hello!

How can I debug why monit does not send mail out?

I missed the following setting:
set mailserver localhost

I added it and restarted monit.

On localhost the mail server is running and also processing mail.

Monit queues mail in the eventqueue. How can I process them and see what 
it does?
