I've opened the tree; the mail-compose bug is technically not a 
smoketest blocker, there is a workaround, *and* there's someone working 
diligently to find what the problem might be.

Please make sure to test any changes you have thoroughly before checking 
in, ideally on two or more platforms. Thanks.
