What exactly is a "from scratch configure run". I attempted to switch to gcc-3.0 by switching the symlinks in /usr/bin to point to 3.0 and doing a "make -f client.mk clobber checkout build", and I got this error. Should a clobber build do a from scratch configure, or do I need to do something else? Okay, I just checked and after a clobber the pertinent lines in the ./configure output were still listed as cached. So how do I wipe the cache and do a configure from scratch? I looked through "./configure --help" and couldn't find anything helpful. Nevermind, deleting config.cache did the trick(my deductive reasoning skills are alive and well :) ) So from this rambling post I have one question, why isn't <cvsroot>/mozilla/config.cache erased by default when you do a clobber. It seems like the amount of time saved by not deleting it is trivial compared to all the object files that clobber deletes or am I missing something?
