Ah, that brings me a little bit closer ;-). But as the "PDF image" 
setting in the Quicktime Preferences doesn't "stick" even after 
trashing this file, PDF isn't listed under "about:plugins". I added 
the following line to pluginreg.dat, changed the number of handled 
mime types and locked the file:

62:application/pdf:PDF image:pdf:$

Now PDF is listed under about:plugins and I'm finally able to view 
PDFs inline with Camino on an Intel Mac! Sadly with a few 
disadvantages: The quicktime controller isn't shown and no scrolling 
and zooming is possible. But to have a small preview it's sufficient 
:-).
