What version of Camino are you checking against?  In general, the 
same methods that work in Firefox will work in Camino, though there 
are a few known bugs.  In particular, if you're testing against 
Camino 1.0.x, Esc gets trapped before the content area has a chance 
to catch it--but this is fixed in Camino 1.1 Beta (bug 314306 
<https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314306>).

If methods you use to get these key events in Firefox don't work in 
Camino 1.1 Beta, please do file a bug 
<http://www.caminobrowser.org/support/bugzilla/#found> (including a 
reduced testcase would be helpful) and we can take a further look.
