(Firefox does show the >arrow...) This is another example of busted browser-sniffing; Google is only showing the arrow to Firefox user-agents, not to all Gecko user-agents (browsers). You should provide feedback to the Google Maps people and let them know the browser-sniffing they are using to determine whether to show that line is busted, pointing them to <http://geckoisgecko.org> for more info.
