[Camino] major glitch

Am new to Camino and have experienced difficulty getting the help. My OSX keeps telling me there is a Camino update and after restarting and all that something appears to block the update from replacing the old version. The other problem is the server popup indicates a Connection failure. The bizarre thing is that the Finder, followed by Safari; and not Camino; take over at the top left of the screen.
