Firebird Crashes on startup

I have bee running FB 0.61 and upgraded to a build of 0.7.  I then decided
to return to 0.61.  After reinstalling 0.61, I had some problems.  So, I
decided to clean my registy and reinstall 0.61.  After that action, FB
crashes on startup.  I then downloaded the unofficial installer of 0.61.
When I started it up, the installer continually asked me if I was sure I
wanted to exit.  I clicked "No" and it installed fine, but still crashed.

What have I done to make this happen?  How can I make Firebird work again?
