SDK for Java uses what java version?

Hi,

I am looking into using Directory SDK for Java to retrieve a credential from
fedora ldap.  But I noticed
when I clicked on the "Ldap Java SDK" link on mozilla it took me to Netscape
Dir SDK for Java, so,
does SDK for Java interoperates with other ldap?

Also, what version of Java can this sdk support, can it use jdk 1.4.2 + ?
