at this point we only distinguish between zero value [LDAP_MSG_ONE]
and non zero value [LDAP_MSG_ALL]. LDAP_MSG_RECEIVED exist as macro
only. perhaps Mark can comment on this further as he is one of the
related rfc/draft authors.
