i dont know of any reason for it not to work then. i suggest you ask
IBM support if they have any patches if its a known issue caused by
some changes introduced by compiler/linker patches or something
like that.

no, we use libumem for that stuff, have a look here

on Solaris it should be very easy to build and shouldnt take
