libatomic is platform dependent lib coming from NSPR i think
so it would vary depending on arch [ eg SPARC v9 vs v8 ] if
NSPR is built correctly so should be that library.

i dunno what your definition of freeware. when you download
Sun Studio you have to agree to license terms and they say,
among other things that, quote :

"Permitted Uses: You may reproduce and use the Software for
Your own Individual, Commercial, or Research and
Instructional Use, subject to and conditioned on Your
compliance with the Additional Terms below."

you should have everything needed after you install Studio.
some tools, as Rich said, are part of the base OS install,
some tools are part of Studio itself. afaik Studio has no
external dependencies of any sort and gives you a complete
dev package in addition to standard OS tools provided.
