Listening for alert boxes and accessing their DOM.

Hello:

Is there a way in Mozilla for a chrome Javascript to listen to prompts and
alerts that are thrown by a webpage, and access the corresponding DOM of
this dialog window?

If we can access the DOM of these then can we use the focus() call on the
elements of this DOM?
