I've tried exactly with the "CDE" color scheme (white menu text) - 
Mozilla displays white too. And no, I'm not using xft or 
gtk2-enabled build (excuse my ignorance but I don't think Slack 8.1 
include these)... now I'm upgrading to Slackware 9.0 and if 
everything gone fine I'll post screenshots.
