Can firebird use gtk?

I just got a new isp and found this group in my newsservers list.

Is it possible to get Firebird to use GTK instead of the XUL gui?

If so, does this speed Firebird up on loading?

If so, can it be done on windows also?

Are there are instructions for how to do this that even a newbie can follow?
