FF vs IE

In spite the complete java is enabled in my version of Firefox, and the java 
sites are well displayed in the IE, it is impossible to view such sites in 
the FF. The FF offers me to install Java machine. When I proceed 
step-by-step according to instructions, the installer announces I need 130 
MB on the disk (!!!). What is it? When I click "OK" another window shows me 
a list of programs to be registered. Though this list counts only one item - 
IE, a program that works properly and doesn't need to be manipulated.

Any suggestions are appreciated.
