JavaConnect - how should I use the Jar and the DLL ?

I have Javaconnect build. But I found no documentation about how the
javaxpcom.dll and the mozjava.jar files should be used.

Should I use the .Jar from any Java code and the DLL only for instantiate
external XPCom objects ?

All the tests are in Java, but are they intented to be tested from a web
page or from within an XPCom component ?
