I am running the release build of FireFox 0.8 on Windows and I have just 
visited
   http://www.hacksrus.com/~ginda/venkman/
and then clicked on the Venkman 0.9.79 install link
   http://www.hacksrus.com/~ginda/venkman/venkman-0.9.79.xpi
and allowed the installation, then closed down and restarted FireFox and 
now if I type x-jsd:debugger into the location bar Venkman opens up 
without problems.
