I will look else where and post my result > if I get any Actually, I submitted a bugzilla report on what is probably this behavior a week or so ago. I've received a few suggestions of things to try. None has fixed the problem. This has included entirely wiping out the entire "Phoenix" directory tree (after saving my bookmarks.html file) and letting firefox start from scratch. The problem affects the last "firebird" browser, too, and has even spread to mozilla in a few cases. This suggests to me that the problem is lower than all of these, perhaps in whatever library routines are used to download files. It's a fairly serious problem. If it's the same problem as mine, what you see is that you can still scroll around in open pages, switch between tabs or windows, etc., but hyperlinks and menus simply don't work any more. The download that triggered it all is in its spinning-icon wait state, and never comes out of it. The pages that trigger it are only reproducible for a short time. But I've found that slashdot is a good source of demo failures. So now I'm reading slashdot with Safari. ;-)
