Two Netscape 7 for Mac questions

1. Why when I copy something from Netscape 7 - even from the location 
bar - and paste it into another program, like Tex-Edit or Word or 
Eudora, does it show up as a bold charcoal font, regardless of my 
Netscape settings, or the settings in the other software?

2. Why does going onto http://nbc.com or anything on their site (at 
best) lock up the browser or (at worst) lock up the machine?  The site 
loads fine in Internet Explorer.
