I don't know what fixed it - I was trying alot of stuff, including a OS X update somewhere in there; but it just started to uncompress and mount. As near as I can tell, the images are the same as before, when it wouldn't mount; I'd suspect an OS issue if I didn't know Apple only released perfect OS versions ... Thanks
