No, the other poster was mistaken. You can set your default Mail and Web 
prefs in (no, I don't get it either) Safari. Or Internet Explorer.

You can remedy this oversight by Apple by downloading the free RC 
Default Apps system pref panel. Check versiontracker or macupdate for a 
copy. It will grant you full control over what opens what, internet-wise.
