MRJ plugin and NS6,7: has anyone actually seen this work?

I have been playing around with different test applets, different HTML
references to those applets (eg, embed/object/applet tags) and I
CANNOT get the MRJ plug in (the one that actually ships with NS 6,7)
to wake up and do anything...

either I get the "broken" image, with the message "you need the
plugin..." or it just fails silently, maybe showing a little black
square which is the combined margins, maybe showing nothing. the java
console is mysteriously unavailable throughout all this.

if anyone has actually gotten the MRJ plugin to work with NS 6,7 I
would LOVE to know about it. the docs I have seen on the netscape dev
site regarding the correct HTML tags are long and detailed but in the
end not definitive regarding NS/MAC.

I want to have a known-good HTML snippet that I could use to reference
a known-good applet and thus perhaps know something. I am at present
in trial and error mode...
