thunderbird custom new mail sound

Hi there,

If I change the new mail notification to "Custom .wav", it doesn't 
actually play the sound .. if I click "Preview" it is silent. If I do 
the equivalent in Mail, it works, so the wav-file is not corrupt.

Is this a known issue? Are there any workarounds?
