Thunderbird bug, and bug reporting

There's a lot that I love about Firefox/Thunderbird and the Mozilla 
site.  One thing I really dislike is bug reporting. I really have no 
clue where to send bugs, which means I'm unlikely to waste my time 
bothering.

Anyway, one problem I've come across on TB is that if I am searching for 
  messages by sender, for some strange reason I cannot enter a "w" 
character.  If I type it anywhere in the field, nothing happens.
