I think the OS rules are stupid, and the programmers tainted by that stupidity. I want the damned program to work the same way with the same layout on every platform. If it doesn't do that, then the major advantage to having a cross-platform program is lost; the ability for a user to seamlessly use the program on any OS without learning a new set of rules. All your excuses and rationalizations do not justify variances from one platform to the next.
