Settingsd TB lost

After some nasty business with a AppleWorks 6.9.2 db-file I try tried to 
solve the problem by restoring it to an earlier configuration (I did it in 
9.1 that is with 10.1 on my hd). After that Thunderbird and Firefox went 
besirk. Both. I lost my TB-settings and messages although they all were 
still there in the preferences folder. And also my addressbooks were gone 
(whereto I don't know). I tried to restore the situation (it took me hours 
and cost me my nerves) but I want to know what happened? En ik begon TB net 
leuk te vinden, godverdomme..
